The Boxes People Live In

The Vortex situation in Sedona got me thinking about my own issues with the appropriation of foreign ideas and why I object to the rampant use of them in a variety of spiritual formats. In both pagan and new age circles, borrowing of ideas from foreign cultures is allowed and even encouraged. In fact, it has occurred to such an extent that many people seem unaware of where medicine wheels, chakras, vision quests, power animals, karma, and other such concepts even came from.

This bothers me for a few reasons.
