We can add 'Saint Pauly's Girl' and "Bar Wench' to the things I've been called. While I was in Targe~t, this adorable kid leaned over the back of his bench at TacoBell and said, 'Look at the pretty lady!' It's not every day one gets a compliment from the most notorious of insulters - children. All in all, the dirndl seems to be a hit, and has triggered a few brief but interesting conversations.

...And here is an interesting article by someone who decries homosexuality, but declares he is not a bigot because this is "the will of the masses." [link] He uses twin research (there is a higher incidence of homosexuality in the second twin of an identical pair when the first twin is homosexual compared with fraternal twins, but it is not 100%) to show that homosexuality can't be genetic because the incidence of both twins being of the same sexual orientation isn't 100%. Um, yeah. Way to show you don't understand human research studies. Little clue for you: there are never 100% in human research. Humans are too fucked up for that; not mathematically perfect. He also brings up girls becoming pregnant, and alcoholism. My attitude toward people like this - people who seem to thing that sex between members of the same gender will somehow destroy the fabric of society - has changed radically in the last few years. I used to become outraged and angry - how dare they have such a narrow-minded, bigoted attitude. Now? Most of the time I'm interested in how they're approaching this to be able to think about it in this manner. Obviously, to some people, alcoholism or underage pregnancy are perfectly reasonable things to equate with homosexuality. Oddly, although they seem to fear the attack of homosexuals stealing perfectly happy men and women from their monogamous and missionary marriages, they fail to protest the swingers who recruit new couples into the unholy act of adultery. (Credit to my idol, Dan Savage of Savage Love, for that particular POV.) When you think about it that way, it's kind of funny, isn't it?

Why does no one watch network tv anymore? Everything on TV is gay! ...personally, I thought it was because everything on network TV sucked.
