I thought about giving you all "my day to the FFX soundtrack," but five entries in I realized my day was really boring and no one should be subjected to that. Just imagine me typing, opening packages, filing, and wasting time as Tidus, Yuna, Auron and the rest have fun running all over Spira reallyreally fast (I have it set to random 8).
I must say, though, it's weird to use a hole-punch to the Airship song...
I'm really glad I have a four day weekend coming up. I've been feeling really burnt, which is totally unfair since I've got a far easier job here than at any of my last jobs. However, I'm also sitting a lot more, and I think that's taking a toll on my attention span. I have a new chair, though! The project in the back ended and I stole one of the nice, data entry chairs I had ordered for them. Yay! I'm now being amused at where other versions of that chair (we own eight in total) are showing up. Most of the chairs ordered for this office are awful; nothing's adjustable, the ergonomics are frightful, and honestly they should be thrown out. However, we don't have the extra cash to just go about willy nilly buying chairs; good chairs are expensive. I'm glad these are filtering out quietly. I know I've been sitting better since I got mine (now we're playing Blitzball in my head. I need to practice that game again. Urg, it's so difficult. [Barbie voice] Blitzball is hard! [/Barbie voice].)
One of these days I'm going to finally make my battle music cd. I'm not sticking with just the Final Fantasy series, either; I want battle music from every game we play in that apartment (and that covers a lot of ground!). Only an mp3 cd could hold it all. My biggest problem is sometimes I don't know which is battle music if I haven't played the series a lot!
I am debating where I'm going to get the money for a brunette wig. For those who know, I'm going to be dressing up as Tohru in "the thing," for Otakon, which is just an hour away from us (maybe less). I have dark blond/light brown hair, so conceivably I could pull it off without the wig, but I'd rather go dark brown, and I don't want to dye my hair again (I did once, for play, dye it black. With the makeup on I looked Native American or Indian; without the makeup I looked odd since I have paleish ivory skin and my hair was very, very dark. It was supposed to wash out in two months, tops. It stayed for six or eight months.). But wigs are expensive, especially ones with the longish hair Tohru has. The Belldandy wig I'm theoretically making will be blond (and is meant to be worn with my hair included), and I have a short auburn wig from ages ago, but neither would work for Tohru. So, I have to go price wigs on Monday along with fabric shopping and the ten million other things I need to do!
I found a wonderful site where the creator Romanizes Japanese CD titles, called Daryl's Library. Almost every Final Fantasy CD is done; it's incredible! She also has interesting things to say about how she does her translations. I also tracked down an excellent lyrics translation page called Waxin' Lyrical.
Oh, and a couple of days ago
shingan sent me here to look at pairings and such. It's a Fruits Basket fanfic and fanart page. Did you know Tohru x Akito was popular? Neither did I. *shudder*
As Mary Sueism runs rampant through Harry Potter fanfiction, the phenomenon is being recorded in comic form. I want to be the quarter Villa, quarter cat person, animagus (but I have TWO forms!), eye color changing, cute one that Harry, Ron and Draco all fight over, damnit!!! I'm Snape's half sister, Harry's first cousin (on his Father's side, of course), Lupin's long lost love (put into stasus years ago by a curse that backfired like Harry's did and then brought back to fight against the evil since I'd make an excellent Auror), and Sirius' favorite! Let me join House Sparkleypoo!
Of course, over email,
s1ncer1ty blew me out of the water, while
animeg became our villain and
shingan is Harry Potters long lost twin. We're still waiting for
kalla to weigh in.
Hey, if you think mine was bad, just ask
animeg what hers was.
