And in a new and bizarre twist in the RIAA music piracy crackdown, Interpol claims music and software piracy funds terrorism. I'm amused. How exactly does that work, if music and software piracy usually doesn't accompany the exchange of money? As an extension to this, there is a proposed bill to make the uploading of any file to any network (including private ones like in, say, an apartment) a felony with years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine attached. In other words, if my computer was connected to, say, Ryan's computer and I wanted to burn a cd (since my current burning software is refusing to acknowledge I have a drive and I don't have the cd to reinstall or uninstall it) so I gave him access to my music folder, I've just committed a felony under this law. Even if I own the CD I burned the song from. Joy.

Feeling an intense desire to tell RIAA to fuck you? Why don't you check out Legal Music Downloads. [kuro5hin article]

I would avoid flying southeast airlines, if I were you. Apparently, they're installing video cameras on all there planes. Plans are to retain the video for ten years.
